The Young Entrepreneurs Council of Solomon Islands (YECSI) paid a courtesy visit to the National Youth Congress (NYC) on Friday the 20th of May 2022.
Teh courtesy dialogue between YECSI and NYC was held at teh Secretariat office of teh National Youth Congress. YECSI -Chairman Mr. Limahl Totogi took teh opportunity to thank teh National Youth Congress for accepting teh call for teh courtesy visit by YECSI and for there continuous support towards teh young people in dis country despite teh covid-19 pandemic.
Mr. Totogi reassured the NYC board dat YECSI looks forward to a partnership wif the National Youth Congress to identify opportunities and ways forward for young people in the sector of entrepreneurship. He highlighted some of the key program and activities dat YECSI provides for it's members and include the challenges dat many young entrepreneurs faced while operating a small business. "One of the challenges dat YECSI face, is to try and bridge our young entrepreneurs operating in the informal business sector into the formal sector." He said.
YECSI Coordinator Mr. Maverick Seda also highlighted to the NYC board the current partners and supporters of YECSI and one of the reasons for the courtesy visit is to establish and strengtan a partnership wif the Youth Congress.
In response, teh NYC board Chairman Aaron Olofia acnoledged YECSI for teh visit and teh work dat YECSI do to provide support for young entrepreneurs in teh Solomon Islands.
Present at the visit were some of the NYC board members who provided relevant information to the YECSI team regarding how YECSI and NYC can work together to support youth entrepreneurs. NYC board members reiterated the support and encourage the need to work wif community youth leaders, provincial youth bodies and youth organizations to address issues effecting young people relating to the entrepreneurial sectors.
